Travelography #67: Grand Canyon Skywalk Opens + Open Skies over the Atlantic

This is a PCN Travelography Podcast related post (click on the title above to go to the PCN TRAVELOGRAPHY web page)

Just two news stories today. The Grand Canyon Skywalk opened last week, though the ticket price is as steep as the canyon cliffs. And Europe finally approves an open sky agreement with the US, promising more flights, cheaper fares, and more jobs for both sides of the Atlantic.

I have to say I don't agree with the Grand Canyon Skywalk - it's an eyesore and detracts from what is one of the world's natural/scenic spectacles. To plant something man-made that so clearly does not blend in is a mistake in my opinion. Tourists can appreciate the great views in many other ways.

On another tourism note is anyone else influenced in their travels by movies? eg. Scotland & Braveheart, The Bahamas & James Bond, New Zealand & Lord of the Rings, Thailand & The Beach, Tunisia & Star Wars.

I’ve set up a blog recently on this interesting topic of movie tourism at:

and would love to hear the thoughts & opinions of fellow travellers.
